Demystifying What's Happening in Telecommunications

This is the busiest time in years, including:

    - New legislation;

    - "Separation" of Telecom;

    - Mobile services review;

    - Broadband disputes; and

    - Commerce Act issues.

Michael Wigley is heavily involved in this area and he'll summarise what's happening for those that don't specialise in telco work.

Outcomes-Focused SLAs

Principles for preparing outcomes-focused service level agreements, including:

    - The top-down perspective to developing service levels;

    - Concentrating on the end to end service experience; and

    - Focusing on the “what” more than the “how”.

SLAs are a, if not “the”, key component in many ICT deals. However, not all SLAs are created equal. Unfortunately, many professionals end up lamenting that the original authors did not spend enough time thinking about how the SLA would work in practice. Stuart van Rij will work through some of the key principles to consider in developing an SLA that is “outcomes focused” and avoids being irrelevant or unworkable.
