Panel Discussion: What should the termination rate be in New Zealand?
The world is watching New Zealand, as a small new entrant tries to break into the market at 110% penetration. Most new entrants came when penetration was under 60% - a vigorous public policy debate has broken out amongst the players. Termination rates between telephone companies are subject to debate all over the world: is Bill and Keep the solution that NZ consumers are looking for? Is it a fair rate for those who have to invest hundreds of millions in new networks? This panel will discuss what termination rates should be set at in New Zealand for the best benefit of consumers.
